the end of hulkamania

this is what happens when legends battle legends;

one reign ends...

one continues...

until the day he finds someone who can stand up to his challenge; another person with an insatiable desire for glory; he won't stop.

ukay-ukay

wala lang. nag-ukay lang ako sa baguio kahapon and it felt good! haha! i'm just hoping na SARS-free yung mga nabili kong clothes. pero grabe talaga yung na-save ko dun (although nag-spend ako technically) for 2 thousand bucks i got... 1 sports coat, 1 wool jacket, 2 shirts, 1 long-sleeved polo, a flannel shirt, a pair of low-cut chucks (cool design!), 1 genuine leather clutch bag and a pair of mock-reading glasses. amazing!

gusto ko nang bumalik dun every 2 months!

left alone: day 2

actually, this day isn't much different from the other day. but here it goes...

i was driving, 20 minutes away from office when suddenly my phone rang. it was erwin dato, the wierd and funny dude who tries so hard to sound like a malaysian. he asked me to call him once i arrive at the office. it sounded important, judging the way he sounded, so agitated. i decided to step on the pedal to reach office faster. actually, i was running late, it was about 8:40 that time but who cares? as i punched my time card, i headed to the nearest phone which was in MBD and dialled erwin's number. "thank god you called" said erwin. He left a presentation material in his pc and asked me to dictate it for me! hahaha! luckily, it was only a two-slide presentation.

as i entered the production area, a familiar cluster of paper wedged between the door welcomed me. alas!

i didn't start working until marose and lala was there. we are a cohesive unit. we work systematically. we can't start our work until everyone arrives. lala came in first and told me that marose just got up! ok, we couldn't start working until she arrives. she was the one assigned to do the production summary; important data for our KPI tracking.

to kill time, lala knitted a new celphone cover while i read the latest from wwe. we had all the time to slouch around and do nothing accompanied by loud music, a stockpile of snacks and drinks; a haven indeed! tp was also with us, playing pool using my celphone. we had so much fun fooling around we almost forgot that we were there to work. hehehe!

it was past 1030 when marose arrived, it was almost lunch. to hell with work! we decided to take a break early and head straight to lala's casa in ayala alabang but not before marose was finished "practicing" putting on make-up. as i drove to their house, i realized that ayala alabang is a huge village. the distance we travelled from kraft to AAV's gate was almost the same as the distance from AAV's gate to lala's house.

it has a rustic, earthly feel that made me feel very cozy. staggering with paintings done by her lola, antique furnitures and hi-tech appliances, her house is unique in a way. an infusion of old and new.

"pasensya na kayo, mejo magulo ang bahay. cleaning day ngayon eh" said lala

it was cleaning day but her house looked cleaner than most of the houses i have been. hell, it looked cleaner than the cleanest my room had been. haha!

we had lunch ala breakfast. burger steak, fired crab meat, chicken popcorn, lumpiang shanghai, fried rice and kool-aid. while having lunch, we watched "if only". not bad... after lunch, we browsed lala's scrapbook and made fun of her and her old cheer-leading days. hahaha!

tp was busy talking with someone on his celphone. he said it was sir doy, he was looking for him. haha! immediatley, he pleaded to return to kraft. (lagot!)

we arrived kraft before 3pm, 4 hours was a loooong lunch break! after that it was all work. before we know it, it was 5:30 already.

uwian na!!

left alone: day 1

i arrived here at work around 9am, 30 mins late; raining outside, office is locked, no one inside any of the other offices, only a bundle of papers wedged between the door and the post waiting for me to encode it. ahhhhhh... work indeed! what a way to start the day.

come to think of it, it's cool. at least i don't have to finish my work on a deadline. (fyi: usually, i must finish those forms before 9am for the morning meeting) i can also turn up the volume of the radio without fearing another angry manager bolting to my office aking me to turn it off. i can wear jeans, shirt and sneakers. i actually have the time to finally finish the book i'm reading. i can do nothing work-related at all. in short, a perfect day!

i have so much in store for this day! hahaha!

doing something really productive

it's funny how we could still manage to squeeze in leisure time during work. eventhough how hard, how much of work is waiting, you must always have time to relax. my idea of relaxation is surfing the net c/o my stolen... err... borrowed internet access password.

aside form blogging and surfing, i devote 1 hour before lunch and 1 hour before leaving for reading; a book, a magazine, junk mail; it doesn't matter! it really helps a lot in relieving work-related stress.

for all you peeps out there working (or pretending to be)...

relax...

work... and work again

the weekend has ended.

our team is still crippled with 2 members out. (one's on leave to play underwater hockey in singapore for the whole week, another's in rehabilitation for a month due to motorcycle accident) guess who's assigned to do all their work? yup! me and lala. imagine, ojt's doing the jobs of regualr employees earning really big. imagine kraft shelling-out 150/day instead of thousands. haaaay... that's life!

this thursday and friday, ALL of plant management will be attending a workshop leaving us OJT's the only employees aside from the line workers. i'm in a position that would make me plant manager for the 2 days! hahaha! funny isn't it? but true. although we're really not getting the title of plant manager, we will be responsible for overheading production, reporing incidents to our boss and doing our routine jobs. certainly a big responsibility given to us. (we are actually planning not to go to work for those said days) it's cool but HELLO?! are they nuts?! but it is really COOL! hehehehe!

the impulsive buyer

yesterday, we had this org basketball game. we were up against 3rd year students. half of the previous team who handed us our only loss last season. having lost for the second time against their other half early this season, we certainly did not want them to beat us again. the game was close at first, our team having only 5 players (yup! no bench) but one by one, our players arrived; and as we increase in numbers, so did the scoring margin. we ended up spanking these kids with a 40-point win.

after the basketball game, we had our lunch at jollibee then headed straight to anton's apartment just across the street for our thesis meeting. as soon as we antered the room, i grabbed the guitar, edward stormed to the ps2 and anton... hmmm... did nothing. (ram was late and herbert ditched us) as usual, it wasn't productive at all. all we did was play tekken 5 and texas hold 'em poker. GOD SAVE OUR THESIS GROUP!! luckily we did something vital for our thesis; fund collection. guess what? i'm the official money-keeper. we managed to collect 2 grands adding it to our previous, amounting to 4G's.

it was 2pm and i was off to sm manila to see chai (my gf) and my god, did i pick a bad time to go there! pro-GMA rally's grouping up around manila city hall. the crowd was so big, i had to side-step all the way from the city hall open park to sm entrance. (boy, she sure has lots of supporters amidst the controversies)

as usual, she's late. she had to finish writing script for their play next week. so, what am i to do in there? the 4G's in my wallet sure gave me an idea!(GOD SAVE OUR THESIS GROUP!!) and GUESS what? SALE!! how do you spell it? G-U-E-S-S... (you got the idea)

moral of the story: don't let droz wait for you for more than 1 hour especially when he's in a mall! PERIOD!

[fyi: the last time she had me waithing in a mall, i also bought 3 t-shirts. 2 for her. for those who don't know how thrifty (and scrooge-like) i am, I AM!!]

stainless steel shit

have you ever wondered why that shinny piece of metal is called STAINLESS? ok, the common answer, "oo naman, kaya nga tinawag na stainless kasi hindi kinakalawang"

ok, let's check out that sentence once again...
STAINLESS kasi hindi KINAKALAWANG

according to webster...
stain - any discoloration or impurity on a surface
ex: rust, dirt, catsup, paint, grease
-less - without
kalawang (rust) - ferrous oxide; oxidation of iron having a brownish-red color

so... kalawang IS stain, dagta ng duhat is stain, barnis is stain, blood is stain. if you are saying that stainless steel is really STAIN-LESS, paint wouldn't stick to it, the same with mud, grease, etchetera, etchetera, etchetera.

actually, madami pang ibang bagay that doesn't live up to it's name eh. uhmm... all-purpose cleaners, anti-theft devices, philippine democracy. 'nuff said!

...walang maliit na problema na di ko kayang palakihin!
(wag nyo ako pansinin, nahihibang na ako)
