first time, bad trip
i even left the office early just to watch the game live...
DLSU - 73 FEU - 70
twas the first time i watched a uaap game live at the big dome. the air was tense because of the close fight, a classic match in the making. last minute, la salle up by 3 when suddenly the bald, lanky guy from FEU made a nimble move for heart-stopping trey that tied the game.
DLSU - 73 FEU - 73
time's running out when a bad call was made on the opposite end to once again, give the possession to the morayta-based cagers. we were all chained up, arm by arm, like picket fences on a rally; all hoping for a defensive stop or a missed shot to come.
5 seconds remaining. they're still milking the clock. when the same guy who made that shot form rainbow country made his tip-in. ALAS!!!
DLSU - 73 FEU - 75
the green archers made a desperate attempt to win the game via casio trey but to no avail. even a tip-in by maierhoffer to send the game to extra period fumbled.
final score: DLSU - 73 FEU - 75
curse you arwind santos! you really are a monster in court!(pun intended) i really admire him eventhough he's on the other team. hands down! to think that he didn't make the cut in the DLSU freshman try-outs because of his (lack of) body mass and the rumors of making instant enemies upon stepping on the court. well, the joke's on coach franz! my cousins used to play with arwind when they were on their early teens and told me that before, he was just ALL-HEIGHT with mediocre skills, no lateral movement, lower confidence level. that's natural, he's still young during that time and i know, players are made, not born (jordan an exception to the rule).
trash-talks were exchanged and salgado, the assistant manager of DLSU could no longer keep his cool and hit arwind on the nape. that was very unbecoming of a christian achiever for god and country. it sure made me ashamed to ne a lasallian. we'll be labeled that way from now on and i can't help it. sour graping, sore-loser, pikon. but the worse was still to come...
after the incident, all the players returned to their dug-outs. FEU sang their school hymn with everything but unison. we sang after in a monstrous volume. i swear it could have registered a 4.5 in the richter scale. FEU gave us a sincere applause for our school pride amid losing, we showered them with boo's and chants of JOLOGS. although i'm not a part of the crowd who shouted JOLOGS while they sang their hymn, it was very sickening. gross disrespect! those are one of the times that made me ashamed to be a lasallian. we are doomed to be stereo-typed as brats and conios.
an advice naman mga dude, next game, wala nang ganun?! di ba kayo nahihiya?! *sigh*
